Absences/Tardies

It is important that students are present and punctual each and everyday. Because mathematics is a heavily layered subject, each new topic building upon the previous ones, once students fall behind catching up can be a nightmare.

Unfortunately, absences and tardies will occur. In the event that a student is not excused from an absence or tardy, a referral form will be sent to the office. Consequences will be assigned by the appropriate administrator.

If a student arrives at class and requests to leave class to retrieve something they forgot, the instructor may mark an unexcused tardy for that day.

It is not recommended that you engage in any job, club, or sporting event that entails missing all or part of math class. In general, only mature students with good study skills and a firm math foundation are able to be successful when participating in such activities.
